Forget about the ANA's Pokemon Jet! To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Doraemon movies, Japan Airlines now has a 777-300 Doraemon Jet which will fly domestically to Sapporo, Haneda, Itami, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Okinawa between mid February and end of April 2010.

The JAL Doraemon Jet is also to promote the latest Doraemon movie, Doraemon: Nobita's Great Battle of the Mermaid King, which is part of the celebration for Doraemon's 40th anniversary will be released on March 6 2010.

Other than painting a Doraemon Jet, JAL will organize daily Doraemon tours to Okinawa from Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Kitakyushu between February 15 and April 30 2010. Of course you will get to fly on this Doraemon jet and will also receive special gifts! Ticket sales will begin on January 18 2010.

On top of that, JAL will shows Doraemon programs on its planes! During March and April, JAL will show another Doraemon Movie, Doraemon: Nobita's Dinosaur 2006 on its domestic flights, while TV episodes will be shown on domestic flights from February till April 2010. You will also be able to listen to the theme song of the new Doraemon movies on the audio channel. At the airports, Blue Sky will carry special Doaremon products

I am really excited about this Doraemon Jet. I basically grow up with this animate and was a big fan of it (well not big enough to start a blog though LOL). Too bad I don't have any planned trips to Japan until summer. I hope JAL will keep this jet even after the promotion period. After all they have so much money on painting the plane, why not keep it for a little bit longer (well I guess they have to pay for the copyright if it is not for the promotion of the movie).
