Japan Airlines (JAL) has updated its 787 website with the following three new important piece of information regarding their 787.

1. When to expect an update on JAL 787
2. Tokyo Narita (NRT) - Boston (BOS) ticket sale details
3. JAL Special 787 Delivery Tour at Boeing Factory in Seattle

1. When to expect an update on JAL 787? JAL will update their 787 website in mid November. This probably means the official announcement of the seat map (which I have reported earlier), hard products installed onboard, etc.

2. NRT-BOS ticket information
ex-Japan ticket will go on sale from 8am JST on November 9 2011 and you have until January 31 2012 to purchase this special fare. This is for outbound travel between April 22 and September 30 2012. Fares range from 115,000 JPY on a weekday economy roundtrip to 760,000 JPY on a weekend business roundtrip ticket. All fares include fuel surcharge but taxes and other fees are excluded. You can refer to the Press Release (Japanese, English) for more details.

3. JAL Special 787 Delivery Tour at Boeing Factory in Seattle
JAL will organize a special Boeing Factory tour at Seattle, just before their 787 delivery. I assume you will get to see the brand new JAL 787 first hand. The tour will go on sale at 14:00 JST on November 17 2011. You will fly from Tokyo Haneda on December 14 2012 to Seattle. No pricing info on the package yet but this sounds like it will be a 5 day tour. Availability is very limited as there are only 20 seats available for sale.

For more information, you can refer to JAL 787 Special Site (Japanese only)

  1. Could you please translate what the 500,000 yen, 115,000 yen and 216,000 yen figures are for? Are those Business and Economy fares, inclusive of taxes?
