JAL to add JAL Global Club Entrance (express security lane) at New Chitose Airport

Back in September 2010, Japan Airlines (JAL) announced a new JAL Global Club (JGC) Entrance at Tokyo Haneda Airport, which is basically a separate express security lane for JGC, JMB Sapphire and oneworld Sapphire members. It was then expanded to Osaka Itami and Fukuoka earlier this year in March. And now it is finally Sapporo New Chitose Airport's turn! With this latest addition, JAL will provide express security lanes for its domestic First Class passengers and the mid and top tier elites at 4 major airports in Japan.

The new JGC Entrance is scheduled to open on December 20 2012. It is located in between the JGC check-in counters and the self-check in kiosks. This is located in the center of JAL area on the 2nd floor. The picture below was taken back in January 2012. You can see there's some empty space with white background where the sign of check-in counter 22 is at in between the JGC counters and kiosks. So my guess is this is where the new JGC Entrance will be.

Existing JAL Global Club counters at Sapporo New Chitose

JGC, JMB Sapphire, and oneworld Sapphire members flying on JAL will be able to use this express security option at  Sapporo. They can also bring one travel companion with them if they are traveling with friends and families.

Of course, JAL domestic First Class passengers, JMB Diamond, JGC Premier and oneworld Emerald members are welcome to use the JGC Entrance with one companion as well. But they can also use the better Diamond Premier Entrance which is connected directly to the lounge and is more exclusive.

I am glad that JAL finally adds the JGC Entrance at Sapporo. Regular security lines could be pretty long during peak hours. I almost missed my flight last time because of the long lines (long in Japan standard :P). And they are opening this just in time for my next flight out of Sapporo on Dec 20 :D I definitely will take more pictures and report back :)
